12 keys

about this release

recorded between 2015 and 2018, 12 keys features 51 instrumental tracks showcasing the ongoing effort of infinite singularity to combine neoclassical atmospheres and extreme metal elements with classic rock, alternative, and post-punk influences. the title of the project reflects that fact that this release is really 12 separate e.p.-length releases, ranging from 3-6 songs each, which are each written in a different major classical key.

these songs were recorded at an undisclosed location in northeast kansas, with no initial plan of being commercially released or officially published, and reflect a four-year “passion project” that was not originally part of the infinite singularity oeuvre. after a few early rough mixes made appearances on youtube during those years, 12 keys has been officially released in two parts as the beginning of a proclaimed “year of instrumentals.” part one, keys i-vi: the lost kansas instrumentals 2015-2016 spring 2023, followed by keys vii-xii: the lost kansas instrumentals 2017-2018 on the summer solstice of 2023.

currently, all 12 keys are only available in digital/streaming format. true to the original intent of their recording, these songs retain an unfiltered feel. they have not been compressed, remastered, or otherwise modified from their original “rough mix” format; and are freely available as part of the story of the “lost years” of infinite singularity.

the photographs below are all the property of infinite singularity and were taken on location in arkansas, colorado, kansas, minnesota, missouri, and texas. the main images for each release (above left and right) are taken from the same location along the kansas river at different times of the year in riverfront park, lawrence, kansas.

infinite singularity releases are available on all streaming platforms (yes, even that one).
